Keep
the flexibility and power I enjoy with Flash,
but be able to build content faster.
Flash is a great tool (we even used it to build
our SmartBuilder interface), but because you can
use Flash to build almost
anything, it's not optimized for creating e-learning.
Using SmartBuilder, you
can quickly build content that includes multi-step
interactions, branching scenarios, delayed feedback,
intrinsic feedback and other designs that will
engage your learners and let them practice new
skills. And, if SmartBuilder is still not powerful
enough for some of your designs, then you can
always build them in Flash and then integrate
the .SWF files into your SmartBuilder content.

Easily integrate content from various tools
Almost any kind of third party content (.PDF's,
.DOCs, .PPT's, etc) can by imported into SmartBuilder
and integrated with new content. Third party content
can be converted into SCORM compliant lessons,
or launched in pop-up windows from within SmartBuilder
lessons.
Media file formats (.SWF's, .MP3s, .FLV's, and
.JPG's) can be embedded with other SmartBuilder
objects directly on the authoring stage. And using
SmartBuilder, you can do more than just play audio
and video, you can interact with it. For example,
you can:
- Set cue points in your audio
or video to trigger other actions such as showing
or hiding objects, or jumping to another page.
- Pause, play, or restart media
based on any learner action such as a button
click, timer expiration, or score achieved.
